Cold front sends a chill across Houston

Strong_cold_frontThe north wind will kick in overnight sending the temperatures tumbling in southeast Texas.

We'll wake up cold Friday morning and won't warm up much throughout the day. A strong northeast wind will keep the temperatures from climbing out of the 50s! That's a 20° temperature drop between Thursday and Friday.

We started warning about the big chill earlier this week. While other weather readers on TV and radio were talking about highs in the 60s for Friday and Saturday, ABC13 meterologists were forecasting much colder weather. Now everyone seems to have changed their forecast to match ours.

We also expect a cool day Saturday. Temperatures will be slightly warmer on Sunday but rain is likely. Our string of sunny, mild weekends is over for now.
