Showers likely on Tuesday

Futuretrack_rain_accum_08112008 A shift in the jet stream will push a "cool" front toward southeast Texas on Tuesday. That should generate showers across the area throughout the day. Some folks could pick up more than two inches of much-needed rain! Heavier amounts will likely fall north and east of Houston, closer to the low pressure.

The first drops will reach us by morning. There could be a few wet roads for the morning rush hour. Scattered showers during the afternoon hours could produce a few puddles for the evening rush as well.

Our temperatures will be a little lower (or less hot) on Tuesday because of the clouds and rain. But the real cool air behind this front will stay north.

I could use the rain, Tim. I hope it happens.
